What to ask before booking a château for your wedding
Beyond the photos, check what will make the day work: the wet-weather plan, the spaces for ceremony, drinks and dinner, accommodation, curfew, required suppliers and extra costs.
The questions to ask
- What happens if it rains? Which covered space, for how many guests?
- Where do the ceremony, drinks reception and dinner take place?
- How many people can sleep on site, and for how many nights?
- Is there a curfew or a noise limit?
- Is the caterer of your choice, from an approved list or in-house?
- What is included: furniture, cleaning, parking, access the day before?
- Which extra costs may apply: deposit, electricity, security?
- How do suppliers access the venue for set-up?
Where to find the answers
On The Venue Advisors, the "At a glance" section of each listing groups this information when the owner has filled it in. For anything else, messaging lets you ask the owner directly, and a visit can be requested from the listing.
