Buying a château to run weddings: is it worth it?
A beautiful property is not automatically a good wedding venue. Before buying, it is location, capacity, accommodation, works and planning constraints that decide the return — not charm.
What to analyse before signing
Location and driving time from an airport, potential noise constraints, reception capacity, accommodation, the works required, planning rules, the local market — and above all the revenue the property can realistically produce.
The weekend changes everything
A property that can host a three-day wedding, with beds on site and an international clientele, has nothing in common with a château that hires by the day. One sells a stay, the other a service, and the figures are not comparable.
Analyse before, not after
A study of event potential carried out before the purchase avoids the most expensive mistakes, and lets you estimate the return on figures rather than on instinct.
